How to Prepare For German and/or Brown Banded Roach Treatment

Roberts Termite & Pest Control, Inc.

1. All kitchen and bathroom cabinets that require treatment should be completely cleaned out. It is common for clients to put these items on the kitchen table and cover them with a sheet.

2. Counter tops and sink in the kitchen should be clean of all food, food debris, dishes, utensils and other food preparing items.

3. Clutter, including piles of clothing and stored items should be cleaned up and either discarded or returned to neat condition.

4. Appliances such as the refrigerator, stove and dishwasher need to be free to be moved.

5. If roaches are present in bedrooms, remove items from closets and drawers so we can treat those areas.

6. All pets and birds should be removed from the premises. Fish tanks should be covered with a towel and circulator turned off or unplugged.

7. If anyone has respiratory problems or is pregnant, we suggest checking with your doctor first. You may be asked to vacate the house during treatment. This depends on the severity of the infestation and the pesticide(s) used.

After the treatment has concluded, please follow these steps:

1. Do not scrub after we spray. Cupboards can be wiped out with a dry cloth afterward. Countertops should be sanitized before any food and/or food preparation can be done.

2. Please do not use any other pesticides or do it yourself treatments after the treatment. You should notice a decrease in population within 24-48 hours, however, please wait at least two weeks to determine if further action is necessary.

3. Sweep up all dead carcasses when found.

4. Clean up all food and food debris and maintain a clean area to minimize the possibility of future infestation.
